• Consents in email blasts, import/export permissions and more!

    Update

Consents are now available to use when you choose recipients in the email editor. This is our first step toward connecting consents more deeply with other parts of the product.

    Update
We made some changes related to how users may access imports and exports when they have restricted people visibility:
    • When a control panel user has “all” people access, they can download any of the files
    • When a control panel user has “none” people access, they can’t download any of the files
    • When a control panel user has “assigned” permissions, they can only download imported files that they originally uploaded or exports that they created
    • A control panel user can download exports authored by people who are assigned to them, even if they have assigned people access

    Fix

We fixed an Event RSVP Attendees Bug so all RSVPs appear on the Attendees tab

    Fix

The “Require address” checkbox on Feedback pages now causes back-end validation (after the form is submitted) for the presence of address information, rather than relying on the theme to add front-end HTML validation. Existing themes remain unchanged, and this behavior is now consistent with other page types.

    Update

We made a change so that only Admins can delete a payment processor from a nation

    Update

Theme and slug information are now available on sent email blasts

  • Introducing Momentum, a new multilingual website theme for NationBuilder

    Update

We launched a new advanced, multilingual NationBuilder website theme called Momentum. Carefully crafted in-house, Momentum will function in English, French or Spanish depending on your NationBuilder site language setting. Designed with best practices baked-in to encourage maximum engagement, Momentum is beautifully polished for both mobile and desktop. More information about this theme here.

    Update

Automation steps in archived steps will no longer be counted in plan usage and shouldn’t block downgrades

  • Deletion of profiles on lists, filter for imports, recurring payments and event autoresponses

    Fix

We fixed a bug that caused people to still show up on a list after they had been deleted. When deleting a profile from a custom list, it was not removed from the screen after deleting.

    Update

We made it possible to filter by all files imported instead of the last 40.

    Update

We made some cosmetic updates for recurring donations: we fixed missing translations, made recurring donations show the correct order (most recent first) and displayed a timestamp tooltip.

    Fix

We fixed a bug so that the link people get in an event autoresponse sends them to a page where they are sorta logged in. Previously the link in that autoresponse was sending people to a page asking them to rsvp instead of allowing them to edit their existing rsvp.

  • Address input localization, signups from text keywords, and more!

    Update

Address inputs for single person view are now localized depending on which country is selected in the dropdown at the top

    Update

New signups created via a text keyword on a signup page are now associated with having signed up through that page

    Fix

We fixed a bug so that the activity stream starts on page 1 and not page 2

    Fix

We fixed a bug that caused some recurring transactions to re-add tags and path assignments that were made with the first donation in the series

    Fix

Canadian Provinces are now normalized to their 2 letter abbreviations for consistency in the filters and exports

  • ReCAPTCHA available on all donation V2 pages, update to membership behaviour, domain deletion flow and more!

    Update

All customers using NationBuilder Payments now have reCAPTCHA included on their donation pages! Learn more here.

    Fix

The page-source search box in automations is no longer case sensitive.

    Fix

We improved the automation editing experience. When clicking “edit” on an email in an automation, it will now open the new email editor instead of opening the sidebar.

    Update

We made the process easier when you need to tag people who are leaving a voicemail by adding an autocomplete to the tag input field.

    Update

When starting a recurring donation tied to a membership, any existing recurring donations tied to the same membership will be immediately cancelled.
The membership remains active. Only the existing recurring donations are cancelled IF they are Active, Failed or Pending. There’s no need to cancel them if they are Completed or already Canceled.

    Update

We added an extra step to confirm the removal of a domain in the custom domain settings of your nation.

  • Address updates, text blast workflow improvements and more

    Update

We've added the ability to request all address types on all page types: now you’ll be able to specify which address type is being requested and modify the order of the address inputs for better localization. The default country in the country dropdown will correlate with the nation details. You'll find more information about this change in our documentation here.

    Update

Users can now define the type of address they are creating alongside a new signup

    Update

When users include URLs on public-facing blog posts, they are now automatically hyperlinked. Links no longer require to be created manually.

    Update

We've made significant updates to the text blast recipients workflow to be consistent with that of email blasts. It no longer defaults to send to "All". We've also enhanced permissions on the mailing recipients tab to prevent users from seeing restricted people data.

    Fix

Control panel users with “Website” access can now access the checkbox tab of signup pages.

    Fix

We adjusted the zoom level on map view to the whole map when users flip to the map view.

    Fix

We've made a change to allow for filtering of “address_state” beyond US/CAN/AUS. Every “state” that is saved in the nation will appear as an option in that filter.

  • Donation v2 page and secure connection URL improvements

    Update

We've improved donation V2 pages so that when a donation fails, the amount and frequency selections are retained on the form.

    Update

When navigating to pages that require a secure connection (like donation pages), the URL will now always be the custom domain URL instead of "<slug>.nationbuilder.com", as long as SSL is enabled on the site.

  • New filter, occupation field display and blast confirmation modal

    Update

We added the Date tagged filter! You can now filter for signups who received a specific tag within a date range.

    Update

We updated the Occupation fields to display consistently across List View and Single Person View.

    Update

We added a pop-up window if "All" recipients are selected for a text blast. Control panel users now need to confirm that they want to send or schedule the send to all contacts.

  • Conversions, security, filters and membership updates

    Update

We’ve leveled up automations by adding conversion tracking—a new feature designed to help you measure your success and create even more sophisticated email series.

Now, you can specify what you’d like to achieve with your automation, such as getting your supporters to donate a specific amount, RSVP to an event, or renew their membership. Once you define your conversion, you can keep track of everyone who has taken that action, and select whether you want them to automatically exit your automation as they convert.

    Read our documentation on conversions.

    Update

To increase the security of user accounts, we reduced the logged-in user sessions to 12 hours. This change impacts users logging into the control panel and/or to public sites, but not "sorta logged in" users.

    Update

Control panel users who want to update their password in their account settings will now need to provide their current password in order to choose a new password.

    Update

When control panel users need to reset the password of another user they can now find a button that says “Send password reset email" in the password tab of the signup profile. This triggers the forgot password email to be sent to the user.

    Update

We've added an option to filter for the address type that is set as the “primary address” for a given person/organization.

    Update

We added the ability to apply a membership expiration grace period to current memberships. This was previously possible for new memberships only.
