  • Conversions, security, filters and membership updates

    Update

We’ve leveled up automations by adding conversion tracking—a new feature designed to help you measure your success and create even more sophisticated email series.

Now, you can specify what you’d like to achieve with your automation, such as getting your supporters to donate a specific amount, RSVP to an event, or renew their membership. Once you define your conversion, you can keep track of everyone who has taken that action, and select whether you want them to automatically exit your automation as they convert.

    Read our documentation on conversions.

    Update

To increase the security of user accounts, we reduced the logged-in user sessions to 12 hours. This change impacts users logging into the control panel and/or to public sites, but not "sorta logged in" users.

  • Email Automations is now here!

    Update

We’ve started releasing email automation to customers on a rolling basis, which we’ll continue to do over the next two months. Currently under the “Workflows” tab of your control panel, you can start creating email automations sourced from a list or from page actions taken on your website, and customize exclusions to prevent supporters from being added to your automation. Check out the new feature in action in this short video and see how automations can make your fully-integrated system even more powerful. If you don’t already see these features in your Control Panel and want to start using them as soon as possible, sign your nation up to get on the priority list for roll out.

Stripe, the integrated provider for NationBuilder’s payment processor, has updated its American Express rate for nonprofits in the United States and Canada to a flat fee of 3.5% compared to the previous rate of 2.2% + $0.30. This will not affect any other donations and the NPO rate of 2.2% + $0.30 will still be applied to the transactions processed on other credit card providers. You can get more information on the international and domestic rates that may apply here.

    Update

We released "New" button flows throughout the control panel to improve the UX.

    Fix

After 5 unsuccessful attempts to charge a donor’s card through a NationBuilder payment processing account, the recurring donation is accurately updated as “Canceled”.  Up until recently, this cancelation would not update the recurring donation status from “Active” to “Canceled,” even though no further charges to the donor would be attempted. This did not affect individual transactions, and customers would not have seen active transactions or payouts where they did not exist, meaning that the impact was limited to the nation’s listing of recurring donations and to some filters.
